The Rosebank College Study Centre, located in the SRSC, (Scholastica Research and Study Centre)
provides a dedicated space for non-classroom based learning. The centre is used by Senior Students during their study periods as well as students studying via Saturday School of Community Languages, Open High School, Distance Education and TVET. The centre is also utilised at lunch and afterschool as part of the homework support program.
The Study Centre is designed to give Rosebank students a head start in developing their independent learning skills that will be essential in future study and within any future working environment. Students are supported by a full time study tutor who works with students to help them develop good study habits, organisation and key learning skills. This occurs at both an individual level or as seminars covering issues of particular concern for all students.
The study tutor provides tutorials on accessing and navigating scholarly databases and academic search engines, particularly Google Scholar, Informit and ANZRC, in preparation for research assessments. A range of presentations and resources are available on the College’s learning management system which students can access 24/7 to guide them through study practices, note taking and other topics.
