High Potential Learners

A world of possibilities

Rosebank educators treat each student’s learning needs individually, allowing teachers to differentiate, building growth for all.

This strategy provides the same educational opportunity and expectation for every student.

To identify and extend our high potential learners, many Rosebank teachers have received their Mini Certificate in Gifted Ed, allowing them to develop further strategies to support our diverse group of high potential learners.

Rosebank offers a variety of opportunities for students identified as high potential learners through accelerated courses and the College’s EnrichED program.

EnrichED incorporates a 10-week individual learning project (InnovatED), enrichment and extension opportunities outside the classroom (InspirED) and the possibility, in Stage 5, to choose the iThink elective, designed to foster critical thinking skills. The opportunity to participate in various competitions such as the Da Vinci Decathlon, Tournament of Minds, Aurecon Bridge Building, NSW Philosothon and the Ethics Olympiad, is offered both at a faculty level and within the EnrichED program.

Rosebank’s Academic Scholarship program offers scholarships for students entering Year 7.

Accelerated Courses

The College always seeks opportunities to offer accelerated classes in specific subjects based on student academic need.

The Accelerated programs are tailored to accommodate students learning at a higher level while all their other subjects are studied at their age level.

Accelerated learning students complete a HSC course earlier. Students also have the opportunity to enrol in the University Pathway Program from Year 10.
